So he purchases the food that Krishna likes and prepares it in the way that Krishna likes it and he offers it to Krishna with love and devotion and Krishna accepts this love and devotion with which the devotee prepares and offers the food to Him. In Vrindavan they do not use garlic and onions in cooking because they know Krishna does not like it. Realistically as devotees of Krishna we can only eat food cooked by other devotees of Krishna and a devotee will never cook with onions and garlic because he is cooking to please Krishna and he knows Krishna does not like garlic and onions.

And, Krishna is the controller of Satva Guna. Those who are in satva guna will not eat non vegetarian foods.
